At Hallbrook, we have taken the decision to be part of the Educational Endowment Foundation's (EEF) writing roots research project. This has led to a curriculum overhaul so that children are taught writing through a book-based approach. The books expose children to a range of authors, characters and are a great way for key themes and messages to be taught. Literacy Tree also allows pupils to have a clear purpose for their writing, which leads to greater immersion in the curriculum.
