At Hallbrook Primary School, we teach French as our modern foreign language. 

We have recently improved our French curriculum to use the scheme provided by Language Angels. 

French, in the National Curriculum, is only compulsory to be taught in Key Stage two. Below is the language journey that children go on at Hallbrook. 

Language Angels ensures that children learn French in the way that children learn their first language, through acquiring vocabulary and learning to read and write through the use of phonics. 

Children are then able to expand their ability to speak and write in a different language by adding topic-specific vocabulary. Children are also taught the grammar that is needed to be able to construct different types of sentences.
