Governors

School governors support the strategic leaders of Hallbrook Primary School.  Governors provide robust challenge to school leaders and hold them to account for pupils' outcomes, but they also provide support to the Head Teacher and school.

An effective Governing Board has the opportunity to support children in their community to develop into confident, self-assured, resilient young people who leave school having experienced a good quality education that prepares them for all aspects of their life ahead.

Volunteering as a governor does take a time commitment - preparing for and attending meetings, additional school visits for monitoring purposes, writing reports, supporting interviewing for new staff, and of course, your own training and continuing professional development.

Becky Edwards

Governor

As a Chartered Financial Planner, I provide specialist financial advice to my clients. I also act as the Compliance Officer for the company that I work with.

Having worked in the Financial Services sector since graduating from University with a BSc(Hons), I believe that the experience and qualifications that I hold in finance, training, HR, supervision and management have been beneficial to my role as a Governor.

As the parent of an ex-Hallbrook student and a Governor, I have been able to utilise my professional skills when working together with Governors, Parents, Staff, Senior Leadership, and other Stakeholders of the school.

I have held various additional roles and responsibilities within the Governing Board, focusing on the curriculum, performance and standards within the school, and am proud of the work that we do. The role of Governor is both challenging and rewarding, as we strive to ensure that all pupils receive the best education and opportunities available to them.
