RE at Hallbrook is taught through class lessons and assemblies. We aim to explore big questions about life so that pupils can find out what people believe and how this affects the way that they live. This helps pupils to make sense of religion and they have lots of opportunities to reflect on their own ideas and ways of living.
Hallbrook takes into account that the UK is a multi-cultural nation and therefore children will learn about the principal religions represented in this country.
Children in the EYFS will encounter Christianity and other faiths as part of their growing sense of self. They will also learn about their own community and place within it.
In KS1 and KS2, children are given opportunities to compare different religions and worldviews. Religions are explored in depth so that time is given for children to develop their curiosity and understanding of the way that people live.
Children have the equivalent of one hour of RE per week. We also have exciting visitors come in to lead our assemblies.
